Founded in early 1999, PaverScape became more than just an idea of our Founder, President & CEO David Lugo, we became the Lowcountry's first ever hardscape design and installation company. Prior to his company's creation, David served as the V.P. of Sales and Marketing for Unicon Concrete in their Concrete Paver and Segmental Retaining Wall Manufacturing Division covering South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and the Eastern Tennessee areas. It was there his expertise, experience and passion in educating and training hardscape and landscape contractors as well as Architects and Landscape Architects in the installation of pavers, retaining walls and other hardscape products took shape. It was only after 4+ years of working with Unicon Concrete did David realize the coastal region of South Carolina still lacked a local and experienced design and installation contractor. So... in early 1999, David left Unicon Concrete and created PaverScape to fill that void. Now, 23+ years later we are still the most experienced, most recognized and recommended hardscape contractor in the coastal region of South Carolina.

When PaverScape first opened its doors in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, we were strictly a residential and commercial hardscape design and installation contractor. Since our inception, we're proud to say that we've been hired to complete some of the most high-profile landmark hardscape projects (see our "Commercial Projects" page under the "Hardscape" tab) in the Lowcountry and throughout the Carolinas. From 1999 to the present, David has constantly been looking for better ways to service his clients (past, present and future ones) needs in creating beautiful and awe-inspiring outdoor living spaces. He has personally hired and trained an incredible staff of designers, project management and crew teams all while keeping PaverScape in the forefront of new ideas and growth in the outdoor living design and installation industry. His drive, determination and expertise have made PaverScape a more diverse, "turnkey" type of design and installation business.

In 2008, PaverScape evolved into a "one-stop" design and installation contractor able to complete everything your outdoor living dreams demand. Our expertise and experience now go much further than our original hardscape design and installation background, we now offer turnkey grading and drainage services, the design and installation of breathtaking landscapes, irrigation and landscape lighting systems, artificial grass and putting greens, bocce ball courts, and fencing/gates. To round it all off, we can also take care of your yard with a full-service landscape maintenance division to maintain your outdoor investment (see our "Landscape Maintenance" page for more details).

In 2021, PaverScape added an Aquatics Division called "PoolScape - Pools and Spas" to the family of services we can offer our clients, custom home builders, landscape architects, and architects. Bringing together a complete "turn-key one-stop shop" design and installation company that will ultimately save our clients' money and help forego the frustration of dealing with multiple contractors, their subcontractors and ALL the delays that come with too many moving parts. You'll know what we're talking about when you read other pool contractor's proposals/contracts and they have a clause that removes them from the liability of repairing your irrigation and damage to your yard. With PoolScape you won't have to wait to see "who" is going to do the repairs to your irrigation and/or landscape when you now have ONE COMPANY that can do it all and work seamlessly.
